Since
1968, when Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver founded this
movement of sports and inclusion, Mississippi has been there. From the earliest
days, and now with more than 7 million Special Olympics athletes worldwide,
they have led the charge for fair treatment, inclusion, and acceptance of
people with intellectual disabilities. With nearly 5,000 athletes and their
families, Mississippi has been breaking down barriers, both on and off the
field, through the power of sport.
I am asking you again to join fellow Mississippians in celebrating and supporting YOUR
Special Olympics athletes. Our 2024 GOLD Gala will be held at The Country Club
of Jackson on November 20, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. I invite you to attend and meet
some of these fantastic athletes. Listen to their stories and hear what Special
Olympics Mississippi means to them.
Please take a moment to consider yourlevel of support. Our athletes never incur any cost to compete in Special Olympics sports.
Your contribution will allow Special
Olympics Mississippi athletes to participate in year-round sporting
competitions, free health screenings, and local, state, and national leadership
opportunities
Sincerely,
Monica
